I didn't have an eye exam done but I did get my frames there. When I picked out my frames, they told me they would do rush shipping at no additional cost. My biggest complaint: they never called me to tell me that my glasses were in! Had I not called I doubt they would have called at all.
I had the first appointment of the day (9 a.m.) and arrived on time but no one was there to open the office. Then, 15 minutes AFTER my appointment time (and AFTER I had finished filling out all the paperwork) I was told that the doctor had just called-in to say that she wouldn't be in that day and I would have to reschedule my appointment. If a patient has an appointment at 9, why would the doctor being calling at 9:15 to say she's not coming????? Based on this kind of experience, I would normally give the business the benefit of the doubt and give them 2 stars. However, this is the second time this has happened to me and both times, I was given the same excuse--sick child (like she didn't know s/he was sick before 9 a.m........???)
Generally, I felt rushed like I was severely inconveniencing them and that they didn't really want my business. I get that it's Walmart, but get over it! We all have better things to do!
I have been to Wal-Mart's Vision Center in the past... not great, not bad. I called today to make an appointment and was asked if I could hold because they had a patient in front of them. I said sure. I waited for 10 minutes and called back. After approximately 8 rings the same person answered with the same request and I said no. She said "I have a patient in front of me I'm dealing with. I said, "Well now you've lost a patient. Goodbye". They have only ONE employee? Maybe you'll do well with only 1 patient!
First things first: I love the wide selection of frames!!! I'm not into the current trend of nerdy wide rim glasses. I like rectangle (hipster) frames. I had a hard time finding what I wanted at Pearle Vision and LensCrafters as they almost exclusively cater to the current trend of nerd glasses. So I was very pleased to discover that Walmart carried an array of different styles.
Secondly, they are more focused on getting their "paperwork" done rather than helping customers. They flat out told me that store hours are 9-8 but they stop helping customers at 7:30 so they can finish up paperwork and not have to stay late.
Their diagnostic computer does not seem to speak with their ordering computer, so my prescription had to be typed back in. It was typed wrong, so I have to wear my old glasses (badly scratched and falling apart) while they send the new ones to be re-made. They are nice and polite to customers there, but that's a poor substitute for knowing what one's doing
